My hope is that the things I post here will actually be helpful for someone and filled with ideas to perhaps bring a little bit more health and wellness into the every day life :)
The Goals:
- Post recipes showing how a few small changes can make a world of difference as far as health and calories.
- The ingredients I plan to use will all come from the grocery store walking distance from my house.
- I will also post small tips for sneaking exercise into your day
- Other ideas for healthy living,
- Links to friends blogs,
- Product reviews
- Whatever happens to strike my fancy at the moment!
Why am I doing this? Because although I've become a registered dietitian I didn't start out that way. I used to be very overweight.
I went to Weight Watchers. I lost all of the weight. I even became a life time member. That was in 2002. It's 2011 and I haven't gained it back.
I've often been asked "how did I do it?" "How did I lose the weight and how did I keep it off?" "What is healthy?" Etc.
I didn't have a clear answer. I even went to college, 4 years plus a 1200 hour internship trying to figure out. In the end I've gained bachelors of science degree in human nutrition, from University of Illinois at Chicago.
What I've learned is that there is no one answer, but instead series of answers that come together to make a healthy person.
As I post in the upcomming weeks and months I hope you find something here that's useful for you.
Thank you for reading,
Kathleen~
